Well, tomorrow I head for Sacramento with 46 others leaders and students, to the Acquire the Fire conference. That means eating out of a backpack, gas station stores, and a bus luggage bay for the next few days (oh, and Krispy Kreme donuts on Sunday morning, woohoo!). hehe, I'm tired already, and I haven 't even left yet.
This will be our 7th year of taking students to this conference. If you're the praying sort, pray for us leaders that we will lead well, love well, and for the students that they will "sit at Jesus' feet" and hear what he might be speaking toward them.
On another note, our students raised enough $$ in a planned famine to get me a hair cut. Locks of Love, here it comes . . .

Sounds like fun!! Can I come? (j/k)
Hope you have travelling mercies, great junk food, and Krispy Creme donuts. Praying that your youth have an awesome time, and that you are able to bless and be blessed. It is an act of love what you are doing.

yay!!! hair cut!!!!! i'm so excited!!!!!!
ryc: i'm becoming more and more convinced that death is death is death. no matter what color you paint around it, it's still black. it's a tragedy no matter the context, be it war, the death penalty, removal of a feeding tube, cancer, suicide, getting hit by a car, whatever. so if it's a tragedy that all these people are dying in iraq/rwanda/sudan/wherever, why keep sending people there and telling them to kill people? i understand that it's a much more complex situation, and i'm obviously still working through the whole concept, but this is all just my thoughts. when is murder appropriate? what does Jesus mean by "love your neighbor"? is there really a "just war" or is it a fabrication of sinful arrogant humans who wanted so badly for people to do it their way that they were willing to enforce it that strongly? basically, i am struggling to see how war is supported by the Bible. that's all. i'm still thinking. a lot.
So tell, how was your trip?
Heather
